2011 NBA Playoffs 1st Round
My picks for the 1st round starting tomorrow
Eastern Conference:
Chicago Bulls (1) vs Indiana Pacers (8)
4-0 Bulls. The Bulls should take this in 4 games. Pacers will have trouble covering the game spreads let alone winning straight up.
Miami Heat (2) vs Philadelphia 76ers (7)
4-2 Heat. Philly is a young team with a deep rotation that can give the Heat some issues... but not enough to take the series from Miami.
Boston Celtics (3) vs New York Knicks (6)
4-3 Boston. Theres been a lot of talk about the C's being washed up, but I think they get it done this series. The Knicks inferior defence will be exposed.
Orlando Magic (4) vs Atlanta Hawks (5)
4-2 Orlando. Hawks might be scrubs, but they tend to match up well with the Magic, should be able to take 2 games.
Western Conference:
San Antonio Spurs (1) vs Memphis Grizzlies (8)
4-3 Memphis. Predicting the upset here, especially with Ginobi's injury. The Grizzlies led the league this season in scoring in the paint, which is a vital statistic against the Spurs undersized bigs barring Tim Duncan.
Los Angeles Lakers (2) vs New Orleans Hornets (7)
4-1 Lakers. Although the Grizzlies are the 8th seed, its the Hornets that are the weakest team in the west. With the loss of David West, this is a gimme for the Lakers.
Dallas Mavericks (3) vs Portland Trail Blazers (4)4-2 Blazers. Another upset, post-trade, the Blazers are a legit tough contender that will give the soft Mavs a tough time.
Oklahoma City Thunder (4) vs Denver Nuggets (5)
4-3 Thunder. This will be a really close series, the Thunder are a complete team after acquiring Perkins and the Nuggets have a roster that can start any of 9 players. Nuggets have the 3rd best record in the league post Melo trade.
